How to detach a Bourrienne shirt?

At Bourrienne Paris X, white is an integral part of our identity. Considered a symbol of purity, white goes wonderfully with a wide range of colors, allowing you to vary the style according to your desires. For our white shirts, we have chosen superior quality materials that do not gray or yellow over time. However, our Bourrienne Paris X white shirts are not immune to clumsy stains from an overly cheerful lunch, a wild evening or the like. If this happens to you, don't panic, we have the solution!

The best way to fight stains effectively is to spot them as soon as possible, before machine washing to prevent them from becoming permanently embedded in the textile fiber of your shirt. Depending on the nature of the stain, but also on the fabric on which it is found, you will have to proceed differently to get rid of it.

The most common stains include iron marks, perspiration, blood, wine stains, coffee stains, chocolate stains, oil or salad dressing stains, ink and makeup. Bourrienne Paris X gives you the list of simple ingredients that we find at home to make them disappear.

Removing iron stains

When your iron is scaled up, it may leave limescale deposits that may become encrusted on your shirt. To remedy this, all you have to do is soak your shirt in salt water. Table salt acts as a mild abrasive.

Remove sweat or deodorant stains

The acidity of perspiration is the cause of these yellowish or brown spots that can be found on the armpits, collar and wrists. There are several methods to get rid of it effectively.

  1. Lemon: Before putting it in the washing machine, you can soak your shirt in a basin of water to which you have added the juice of a squeezed lemon. Lemon has very effective stain-removing properties, especially on white clothes.
  2. White vinegar: It has an undeniable whitening power and can easily remove sweat stains. To do this, simply add a cup of white vinegar directly to the detergent drawer.
  3. Table salt: Yes, simple table salt is very useful for eliminating traces of perspiration. To do this, soak your shirt in a basin of salt water.
  4. Soda percarbonate: Also known as “soda crystals”, percarbonate is an ecological stain remover that is relatively unknown to the general public. You can use it in two ways. In pre-washing, you can dilute a small handful of sodium percarbonate in a basin filled with water and let your shirt soak for a few minutes before putting it in the machine. You can also use it directly in the washing machine by pouring one to two teaspoons of soda crystals into the drum of the washing machine.

Removing Blood Stains

The first thing to do when faced with a bloodstain is to protect it from the heat at all costs. Indeed, the blood being made up of proteins, the heat could fix them on the textile fiber and thus make them more complex to eliminate. The best solution against this type of stain is a mixture of cold water and salt. Salt being a mild abrasive, it will pick up blood residue on your shirt.

Removing coffee stains

You are never safe from an unfortunate coffee stain. If this happens to you, don't panic, we have the solution.Several methods are available to you, but you must act as quickly as possible

  1. White vinegar and water mixture: Pour the mixture over the stain and leave to act for a few minutes before washing your shirt.
  2. Household alcohol at 90°: Soak a piece of cotton in alcohol then dab the stain with it until it fades and disappears. Place your shirt in the machine.
  3. Lemon: Pour a little lemon juice on the stain and rub. Place your shirt in the machine.

Removing oil and salad dressing stains

Like wine stains, cooking oil or salad dressing stains can occur after lunch or dinner. The method to adopt to remove this stain will depend on the material of your shirt.

  1. On a cotton shirt: You can get rid of this stain by rubbing it with a sponge soaked in washing-up liquid. To complete the removal of the stain, you can place your white shirt in a bath of diluted washing-up liquid.
  2. On a linen shirt: Sprinkle a little salt on the oil stain so that the grease is absorbed. Leave on for several hours before washing off with soapy water. Machine wash at 40°C.
  3. On a velor shirt: Absorb as much of the stain as possible with cotton wool. Place several layers of absorbent paper towels that you moisten slightly before ironing at medium temperature. This process will transfer the fat from the stain to the paper towel.
  4. On a silk shirt: Pour talc on the stain to absorb it as much as possible. Leave to act for a few moments then brush off the scab obtained.

After treating the stain, put your shirt in the washing machine to optimize the result.

Removing chocolate stains

Chocolate stains are among the most stubborn if not treated quickly. For fresh stains, pour cold water over them and rub with a little soap. For stains that are already embedded, scrape with a spoon before rubbing with a little soap.

Removing makeup stains

Makeup, foundation or lipstick stains fall into the category of “oily” stains. As such, you can treat them in the same way as oil stains by using talc to absorb them before scraping off the crust that has formed. It will then be necessary to place an absorbent paper on the area to be treated and to pass a small blow of iron, not too hot, on this level. All you have to do is put your shirt in the washing machine to finalize the detachment.
