OUR WRISTS

The Bourrienne wrist

Our Bourrienne wrist is inspired by the old puffed sleeves of period shirts, whose wrist was closed with a buttoned band. We have reinterpreted this principle by minimizing and purifying the wrist and by weaving the sleeve with a slit with a surepiked edge. The sleeve is prepared using a cardboard template, which allows the edges to be joined in a perfectly symmetrical and geometrically correct manner.

The musketeer wrist

Originating in the male wardrobe of the 19th century, musketeer cuffs were worn by horsemen who fought with muskets.
Folded back on themselves, and closed with cufflinks, we have replicated them and added our series of signature gathers on the sleeve, still inspired by antique shirts.

The musketeer wrist revisited

Starting with the classic musketeer cuff, we wanted to turn it around and make a new, more distinctive wrist. By adding a small tab to close it, it revisits the codes of the classic without changing the functionality.

The tongue wrist

This brand signature wristband found its inspiration in antique shirts. Some of them had a bib pull that buttoned on the inside of the pants to keep the bib tightly plated. We wanted to give a second life to this element by giving it a new use: closing the wrist.

It is inserted in a buttonhole and then comes to close the sleeve thanks to the cuff button which closes the whole.

The classic rounded wrist with hidden button placket

The classic rounded wrist with its hidden button placket and subtly arranged gathers starting at the wrist make it a signature detail of the brand. Stitching stitching sublimates the ends of the wrist and the tongue that rises slightly towards the sleeve.

This wrist is slightly different in fabric and texture according to certain models, with the inside of the wrist in the same fabric as the pleated bib for the ROMANCIER white shirt models.

The classic square wrist

The classic square cuff is distinguished by its hidden button placket, its gathers starting from the wrist which also make it a signature detail of the brand and which enhances our white ARCHITECT shirt.

This variation of classic cuffs makes our white shirts monochrome pieces, yet dissociating themselves from each other by their details, their seams, their gathers, their touch.

The classic wrist with bumblebee finishes

The classic cuff with drone stitch finish is a reinterpretation of ancient details, in those days, seamstresses used to solidify the seams with a hand-made back-and-forth stitch: this is a holding stitch, sometimes called a bumblebee stitch. We have incorporated them into our wrist and leg details in a variety of ways.
