Pleated shirt bib : a French savoir-faire
Our pleated fronts are made in a workshop in Brittany, near Saint-Malo, and are the result of meticulous craftsmanship. Elbow to elbow, with passion and meticulousness, this know-how has been passed down from generation to generation since 1956. The elders pass on their skills and experience to the younger generation, who meticulously perpetuate a tradition of quality while developing it further.
This team is supported by a workshop with an impressive collection of pleating machines, some of which are almost a hundred years old, works of art and true sources of inspiration, which coexist with more contemporary equipment, offering precision and great flexibility in the creation of pleats and in the choice of materials.
Pleated shirt plastron: The art of detail
Each fold is enhanced by the finesse of the result, its geometric precision and the quality of the molds used. ‘We create, build, trace, fold, iron, unravel, unroll, expert fingers carefully place the fabric by pulling the right threads, roll, knot... The boards slide and the weights clatter, the cardboard crunches under the force of the hands, the materials are transformed. At the signal, the ovens are ready, a cloud of steam escapes as the doors open, and the rolls begin to roll, revealing the mystery of the folds and their techniques.
Whether in poplin or linen, each pleat is made by hand with the precision of a goldsmith. Each Bourrienne shirt is a work of art in its own right, created with passion, authenticity and dedication by our craftsmen.
