Bourrienne Paris X, a responsible brand

The environmental commitments of Bourrienne Paris X

For World Recycling Day, Bourrienne Paris X aims to highlight its environmental commitments in collaboration with its factories and suppliers. Today, the fashion industry is among the sectors contributing most to climate change. Committed to fostering a better world and advancing the fashion industry, the Bourrienne Paris X team has posed several questions to its subcontractors regarding their environmental actions. This initiative aims to provide you with insights...

Bourrienne Paris X and Its European Manufacturing

To remain close to our factories and avoid extensive transportation of our items, we have opted for European manufacturing. Made in Europe represents a guarantee of quality, ensuring that our products meet standards and endure over time. Bourrienne Paris X takes pride in showcasing European craftsmanship to offer high-quality products rich in technique and detail...

  • Pleated plastron in Brittany

We are proud to highlight French craftsmanship. Some of our plastrons are pleated by one of the last pleating artisans in Brittany, then sewn fold by fold by the skilled hands of our seamstresses.

  • Embroidered braids in Hauts de France

The embroidered braids, featuring some of the decorations from the Hôtel de Bourrienne, are also made in northern France.

  • Cufflinks made in the southeast

We also collaborate with French artisans such as Marc Maron who craft our cufflinks inspired by the emblematic flower of the hotel.

All these artisans contribute their unique talents to give our shirts a distinctive soul.

Choice of natural and certified materials

First and foremost, for sustainable fashion, it is important to design clothes in a thoughtful and reasonable manner, using materials that pollute as little as possible. That's why we carefully select our materials: linen, cotton, silk... To ensure the quality of our materials, we prioritize fabrics that are certified. Our fabrics are GOTS certified (Global Organic Textile Standard), a certification that guarantees a composition of at least 70% organic fibers with environmentally friendly production and processing methods. The label also considers social criteria such as respecting and improving working conditions.

A responsible production

The Bourrienne Paris X team is aware of the challenges it faces and aims to avoid participating in a mass production economy. Quantities for each order are carefully discussed to prevent overstocking. Each new season, we have a core collection that allows us to continue our iconic shirts. For the last pieces of each collection, private sales are organized to create an event and manage our stock efficiently to avoid any losses. Moreover, the quality and timelessness of our shirts make them unique pieces that will be passed down from generation to generation.

Furthermore, our factories prioritize zero-waste production. Fabrics are reused or resold to customers. Dust and processing waste are used as insulation materials and recycled for new applications, such as student projects in fashion schools.

Factories Committed to a Better World

Each of our factories is equipped with an energy monitoring system that allows real-time control of their consumption. This system helps make better decisions regarding energy use. Like every citizen, small actions can make a difference. Installing dimming sensors and skylights on a factory scale significantly aids in more responsible consumption. Additionally, installing solar panels is becoming a primary objective for our factories, aiming to achieve 100% green and renewable energy. One of our European factories achieved carbon neutrality in 2014, thanks to the installation of 3,924 solar panels.

A growing awareness...

Because we take responsibility towards society, the environment, employees, customers, and partners seriously, we will continue what we have already successfully started.

The digitalization and new technologies will be a new springboard for our factories. For most, the ambition is to launch models using 3D patterns instead of physical prototypes. This technique will minimize back-and-forth shipments and reduce our carbon footprint.

Bourrienne Paris X supports and encourages you towards more responsible consumption, while combining pleasure and tradition...
